Nissan's Leaf poked its head out in 2010, but this year sees the release of five major electric vehicles. Mitsubishi has just begun putting its i-Miev into consumer hands, and it will be followed up by the Ford Focus EV, the Tesla Model S, the Honda Fit EV, and the Toyota RAV4 EV. This week, Toyota showed off its RAV4 EV, an electric vehicle rapidly developed with the help of Tesla. Its specifications are not ground-breaking, showing the typical 100-mile range of most new electric cars, but it will be the first SUV in this new, electric generation. We also found out this week that the Tesla Model S scored a range of 265 miles in EPA testing, below the 300-mile mark set for it by Tesla. After all, only a complete and utter moron would text while driving. I also take umbrage with these statics. Last night I was reading an article [that stated] 80% of teens admit to texting while driving. Perhaps it's time to ban teens from driving if they can't stop texting. Sorry kid, my life is worth more than your text message.
