Netflix, Hulu drive consumers to cut cable cord
Researcher finds that 1 million U.S.-based customers cut the cord last year, and instead accessed Netflix, Hulu Plus, iTunes, and other paid services to get their TV fix. They also headed online for free content and went to kiosks, like Redbox, to watch movies. A couple of years ago, I spent a month without cable TV, and although I noted several benefits to making the move, I ended up going back to my television service. However, could Amazon Instant on PS3 and HBO Go on Xbox finally mark the beginning of the end for the cable companies?
