As expected, the Model X is built on the same platform as the Model S sedan, so there are many similarities. The battery options will be the same, although the Model X will get about 10 percent to 12 percent less range due to greater weight. The Model X has a wheelbase about 4 inches longer than the Model S', and a full third seating row. One innovative feature is what Tesla calls its falcon-wing doors, which give it very large door openings. Don't hold your breath for the Model X, though, as it doesn't go on sale until 2014.
