Kaspersky Lab, a leading developer of secure content management
solutions, and Cavium Networks (NASDAQ: CAVM), a worldwide leader in
security, network services and content processing semiconductor
solutions, today announced that the full-featured Kaspersky
Anti-Virus Software Development Kit will be available on Cavium
Networks OCTEON Multi-core MIPS64 processors. The integrated
antivirus solution can be used across a wide range of networking
equipment such as routers, switches, access gateways, wireless access
points and UTMs.

Kaspersky Anti-Virus SDK technology provides superior detection rates of
viruses, Trojans, and worms, as well as of spyware, adware, rootkits and
all types of mobile malware. The solution also provides the industry's
fastest updates for technology vendors, which means end users of Cavium
OCTEON processors will be protected from newly-emerging malware threats.

Cavium Networks has supported Kaspersky SafeStream on OCTEON processors
since 2006. Kaspersky SafeStream is an industry-first stream-based
malware signature technology, which is designed to provide quick and
effective first-level defense against the most active malware that
spreads on the Internet today.

The Cavium Networks OCTEON family of Multi-Core MIPS64 processors
offers industry-leading performance, scalability, low-power, and
advanced hardware acceleration for intelligent networking applications
ranging from 100Mbps to full-duplex 10Gbps. These software-compatible
processors, with one to sixteen cnMIPS cores on a single chip, integrate
processor peripherals, next-generation networking and memory interfaces,
advanced hardware acceleration for packet processing, QoS, TCP,
multi-core scaling, pattern matching, compression/decompression,
storage, security and antivirus acceleration. Additionally the OCTEON
processor family provides unparalleled throughput and general purpose
programmability for the Layer 2 through Layer 7 processing required to
build next-generation intelligent networks.

"We are delighted to extend our partnership with Cavium to include
Kaspersky Anti-Virus SDK for industry-leading malware protection in
addition to previously-available Kaspersky SafeStream technology. This
will allow customers choosing Caviums OCTEON processors to find
ideal solutions to all their network protection needs, be it complete
antivirus protection with the highest security, the fastest network
performance with focused malware protection, or something in
between," says Peter Laakkonen, President of Kaspersky Lab
Customized Solutions, Inc

"OCTEON processors are being used by a broad range of Tier-1
Networking OEMs building routers, switches, gateways and appliances
across multiple performance and price points," says Amer Haider,
Director of Strategic Marketing and Ecosystem Development.
"Providing a full-featured Kaspersky antivirus solution on OCTEON
and scalable alternatives will provide our joint customers with an
excellent platform to build and secure next generation intelligent
networking systems."
