Kaspersky Lab, a leading developer of secure content management
solutions, announces the release of Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Linux
Workstation with GUI, a fully functional antivirus product with
graphical user interface, in Japan.
Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Linux Workstation with GUI provides centralized
protection of all Linux-based workstations on a corporate network, as
well as remote PC and laptop users. The solution provides comprehensive
protection from all types of malicious and potentially unwanted
programs, including viruses, worms, Trojans and adware.
In Japan Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Linux Workstation with GUI is
distributed on a non-exclusive basis by Turbolinux Inc. The product is
to replace the "Turbo Antivirus", an OEM-solution based on
Kaspersky Labs antivirus engine, previously delivered to users of
Turbolinux FUJI, an operating system manufactured by Turbolinux Inc. The
users of Turbolinux FUJI can now easily upgrade to Kaspersky Anti-Virus
for Linux Workstation 5.5 using Turbolinux administration tool.
Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Linux Workstation with GUI boasts a number of
significant improvements over the previous version of this product. The
most visible of them is the graphical user interface, which greatly
improves program accessibility and simplifies settings.
The product also provides real-time protection of the system,
intercepting file system requests, scans the files being accessed for
malicious code and cures or deletes infected objects or isolates
suspicious objects for further analysis. The iChecker technology and
double-caching functionality introduced in the new version dramatically
decrease system resource usage and scanning time.
